The National Weather Service in Springfield has confirmed that an EF1 tornado touched down near the Barry/Lawrence county line demolishing the Pizza Hut in Monett and tossing U-Haul trucks there around like matchbox cars. It wasn't just the business district in Monett that sustained damage, rural areas were hit as well.

Stone County Sheriff's dispatchers say there are several trees down in Stormy Point, Cross Roads, McCall Bridge and near Hurley.
Christian County Emergency Management Director Phil Amtower says a barn was destroyed, there is damage to a couple of houses and trees were reported down along a two mile swath in near Bruner. The canopy over gas pumps at Quick Trip in Ozark caught fire in what was first thought to be a lightning strike, but turned out to be an electrical fire.
Lawrence County Emergency Management Director Mike Rowe says trees are down through the county.
No damage has been reported in Taney Coutny.
