Inmate Suicide In Taney County:

Chad Keller

An inmate in the Taney County jail commited suicide the last week of April, according to Sheriff Jimmie Russell.

On April 20th Chad Keller, 43, Branson, was sentenced to one year in the Taney County jail on a probation revokation for domestic assault. Keller's probation was revoked because he had recently been charged with forgery and domestic assault, according to prosecutor Jeff Merrell.

Russell says jailers found Keller had hanged himself in a cell in a medical wing of the jail on April 23rd. The sheriff says that Russell was in the medical unit because he had complained of not feeling well, not because of any mental health issues.

Russell says that a psychiatrist is available to inmates once a week.
