Mastermind In Murder Plot Sentenced To 25 Years, Boyfriend Scheduled To Be Sentenced In November

The final two suspect in a 2008 contract murder in Springfiled have pleaded guilty.

Theresa Rash and her lover Jeff Bloom acknowledge that the state has enough evidence to secure a conviction in the murder for hire death of Rash's husband, Stepehen E. Rash.

According to court records, the plot to kill Rash on December 8, 2008, was put in motion by Theresa Rash who wanted her husband killed for verbally abusing her and because she wanted to be with Bloom.  The conspiracy was put hatched about a week before Stephen Rash was found dead on his kitchen floor.  He had been bludgeoned with a pipe and his throat had been slashed.

As part of the plea agreement, Theresa Rash was sentenced to 25 years in prison.  Bloom is scheduled to be sentenced on November 3rd.

Alexandrea McNeeley

First-degree murder charges were dropped against Theresa Rash's daughter, Alexandrea McNeeley and her boyfriend Troy Christiansen, and replaced with conspiracy to commit murder charges in exchange for their cooperation against their co-defendants.

They were let out of county jail pending the resolution of the other cases and will be sentenced soon, according to Greene County Prosecutor Dan Patterson.

Five months ago William Reed was found guilty for his part in Rash's murder and was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

After a bench trial last month, Judge Tom Mountjoy found Rusty Amoss guilty for his role in Rash's murder.  He was also sentenced to life in prison.

A man from Springfield will spend the rest of his life behind bars for his role in a 2008 murder for hire plot in which were six people were charged with murder.

After a bench trial Judge Tom Mountjoy found Rusty Amoss guilty of killing Stephen E. Rash on December 5, 2008. Prosecutors say the murder plan was hatched by Rash's wife, Theresa, and her lover Jeffery Bloom, whose trial is scheduled to begin on October 31st.

Theresa Rash's daughter, Alexandrea McNeeley and her boyfriend Troy Christiansen, have entered into plea agreements with the state and may be called on to testify against the remaining Theresa Rash and Bloom.

First-degree murder charges were dropped against McNeeley and Christiansen (who will not be sentenced until all the other defendants have been sentenced) and were replaced with conspiracy to commit murder charges in exchange for their cooperation in the case.

McNeeley Pleads Guilty For Her Role In Rash's Murder:

One of six people charged with the murder of an elderly man in December of 2008 has pleaded guilty for her part in the crime.

Prosecutors charged Alexandria McNeeley with first-degree murder for the beating and stabbing death of her stepfather Stephen Rash. McNeeley's boyfriend, her mother, her mother's boyfriend and two other people the group allegedly hired to kill Rash face those same charges.

However, prosecutors amended the charge against McNeeley to conspiracy to commit murder on Thursday March 18, 2010, and she pleaded guilty to the amended charge. McNeeley has turned state's evidence and was released from the Greene County jail last year after her life was threatened by a jail inmate.

Greene County chief assistant prosecutor Dan Patterson says his office will defer sentencing, and McNeeley will remain free, until the trials of her alleged co-conspirators are completed.
