Suspected Gunman In Arizona Rampage Shootings To Be Treated At Fed-Med In Springfield:

Jared Lee Loughner

The suspected gunman in the Tucson shootings that killed six and injured 13, including Arizona Representative Gabrielle Giffords, will be brought to the Federal Medical Center for Prisoners in Springfield for a mental evaluation.

U.S. District Judge Larry Burns said the evaluation of Jared Lee Loughner will be videotaped and provided to prosecutors and defense attorneys. He also ordered that conducted no later than April 29.

Attorney's for Loughner wanted him to stay in Arizona and undergo competency testing there.

Judge Burns ordered that the exam will be limited to whether or not Loughner is competent to stand trial, not whether he was sane at the time of the shooting.
