The Christian County Sheriff's deputy who is facing weapons charges in two states has resigned.
Corporal Brent W. Paoli, 34, Nixa, who was off duty at the time of the alleged weapons violation, was charged with unlawful use of a weapon in Missouri and Kansas after he allegedly fired a 9mm handgun into the woods and at his girlfriends vehicle on August 28th.
After searching two hours for Paoli, authorities received information that he was in the area of the Mo-Kan Dragway on the Missouri side of the state line. A Kansas Highway Patrol chopper spotted him hiding near the speedway, where he was taken into custody by Jasper County authorities.
