Two women are in the Boone County, Arkansas jail---one for escaping, the other for helping the woman escape.
Sheriff Danny Hickman says that Agnes Martinez, 25, escaped from custody briefly from Boone County District Court, Thursday, April 1st.
Bailiff Arlis Franklin was accompanied inmates from the Boone County jail to when he radioed that an inmate had escaped. Martinez, was appearing before Judge Fred Kirkpatrick on charges of property theft.

Martinez escaped from the building and started walking down the street but was apprehended by Sgt. Mike Henderson about 4 blocks from the Old Federal Building. Hickman says Martinez was aided by Dawn Smith, 29, who provided her a change of clothing.

Smith was arrested and charged with Hindering Apprehension and Obstruction of Government Operations and was is bein held on $7,500.00 bond.
Martinez is back in jail and will now face escape charges in addition to the theft charge.
