Pulaski County Jailer Charged With Having Sex With Inmate:

Joshua S. Wagner

A former jailer in Pulaski County has been charged with having sexual contact with an inmate, according to a news release from Pulaski County Sheriff J. B. King.

Allegations against Joshua Steven Wagner, 27, surfaced on April 26th and on June 15th he was charged. Wagner posted $50,000 bond and has been released from jail.

The Division of Drug and Crime Control (DDCC) of the Missouri State Highway Patrol investigated the incident.

Sheriff King says, "I cannot and will not comment on the facts of this case to avoid any taint of the case at a later time. I can say that Wagner was one of five persons hired under a federal grant who began training at the Pulaski County Jail on Jan. 17, 2010. During the very first training hour of the first training day I personally told the new employees about the Missouri law governing sexual contact with an inmate and promised them that if they violated our trust in them that we would prosecute the violation."
