The former camp director for Kanakuk Kamp who was sentenced last week to two life terms plus 30 years for sexually assaulting young boys over several years has been moved to Callaway County, MO to begin serving his sentence.

Peter "Pete" Newman, 34, was transferred to Fulton Reception and Diagnostic Center this morning. He will be tested and evaluated at Fulton for the corrections system's education, treatment and vocational programs for a few months before officials decide what prison to place him. He will probably be moved several times during his sentence.

There is still no word on when Colorado authorities will transport Newman to La Plata County to face alleged sexual assault charges involving children there.
